I have known Chef Kristal Kay for close to 10 years now, back when we were both just starting out on our own paths, and it has been amazing to watch how far she has come. In 2019 I hired her for a private Father’s Day dinner here in South Jersey, and to this day it is still one of the best meals I have ever had in my life, not just in my own home. She traveled all the way from New York, spent the entire day cooking, and handled everything from start to finish with so much professionalism, patience, and care.
The meal itself was unforgettable. We had fresh tomatoes and basil with balsamic glaze on homemade toast points for the appetizer, perfectly cooked lamb chops, bacon wrapped asparagus, homemade mac and cheese, and a lava cake for dessert that tasted like it came straight out of a high end restaurant. Every dish was made from scratch and you could taste the love and effort she puts into her food. What impressed me just as much was that after cooking all day, she cleaned everything and left the kitchen spotless. The whole experience felt special, comfortable, and personal at the same time.
What I respect most about Chef Kristal is that she has always stayed true to her craft. I have followed her journey for years and seeing her grow into the chef she is today makes me proud to say I have supported her from the beginning. If you ever get the chance to book her, do it. You are not just getting a meal, you are getting a full experience made with heart.
